Hoyt Sherman Place Foundation Receives Iowa Economic Development Authority Cultural Leadership Partner Grant
Hoyt Sherman Place Foundation is the honored recipient of a $60,000 grant provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Iowa Arts Council, which exists within the Iowa Economic Development Authority. Cultural Leadership Partner organizations are selected every three years and receive grant funds to support operating costs throughout the three-year cycle. Recipients demonstrate their investment to strengthening the arts, culture and creative industries across the state to provide Iowans with access to enriching cultural experiences.
Arts and cultural production contributed nearly $5 billion to Iowa’s economy last year and accounted for nearly 42,000 jobs, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Iowa’s leading arts, cultural and heritage venues also serve as tourism attractions and anchors to vibrant downtowns, generating local spending and supporting Iowa companies in their efforts to attract talent by enhancing Iowans’ quality of life.

The venue offers an intimate theater experience with extraordinary acoustics, a beautiful historic mansion, and a majestic art gallery. From one-of-a-kind events to sharing art and exploring history, this is the place to be in Des Moines. For more than 100 years, Hoyt Sherman Place has been part of the community and will be for the next 100.
