Hoyt Sherman Place Welcomes New Education Program Coordinator, Emily Roeder
Hoyt Sherman Place is pleased to welcome Emily Roeder as its newest addition to the staff. Emily began her role as Education Program Coordinator on July 8, 2024.
Emily is coming to Hoyt Sherman Place from Des Moines Public Schools where she served as a music teacher at Carver Elementary and Harding Middle School. She graduated from Drake University, not once, but twice with a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in educational leadership. In 2019, she competed at the Miss America Competition as Miss Iowa, championing arts education advocacy. She is thrilled to be a part of the Hoyt Sherman Place team as the Education Program Coordinator and will continue to elevate artistic, educational opportunities for all across Des Moines.
“We are so excited to have Emily join our team. Her years of experience as an educator and a statewide arts advocate will serve the patrons of Hoyt Sherman Place tremendously,” says Robert Warren, the organization’s CEO. “Ms. Roeder’s newly acquired master’s degree in organizational management will be put to good use.”
