Hoyt Sherman Place Des Moines IowaNestled on the eastern edge of the historic Sherman Hill district in Des Moines, Iowa, Hoyt Sherman Place boasts one of Des Moines' most magnificent entertainment, banquet and meeting facilities. Built in 1877 by prominent pioneer businessman Hoyt Sherman, the elegant family home is graced with marble fireplaces, parquet floors and a carved mahogany entryway. Expanded over the years, the building also includes an impressive and elegant art gallery as well as grand and historic theater. Each room is available for special events and corporate funtions.

Within a given week, Hoyt Sherman Place may boast a diverse spectrum of events from an exciting concert to a wedding, a business meeting to a world premier theatrical experience, a visiting author to a local dance performance. Hoyt Sherman Place also generously gives back to the community by offering a venue for non profit arts organizations to produce and present quality entertainment for all ages. Collaborations with other local organizations also provide a new and unique platform to host events such as the Mardi Gras gala.
