Hoyt Sherman Place is excited to announce their free concert series, Jazz in July, is back for 2022! Concerts are scheduled for Tuesdays, July 12, July 19, and July 26, with openers performing at 6:00 PM on the John & Penny Krantz Stage outside on the lawn, and headliners will hit the theater stage inside at 7:30 PM.
This free summer program wouldn’t be possible without the help of its premier sponsor, Principal Foundation, as well as expertise from our Jazz in July Arts Advisor John Krantz.
The full Jazz in July schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, July 12
5:00-5:45 PM CJC Youth Combo
6:00-7:00 PM Dave Rezek’s Alpha State Agents outside on John & Penny Krantz Stage
7:30-9:00 PM Yaala Ballin Trio inside on Theater Stage
with special guest, saxophonist Wayne Page
Tuesday, July 19
5:00-5:45 PM Creative Music Studio Student Recital
6:00-7:00 PM Susie Miget Quartet outside on John & Penny Krantz Stage
7:30-9:00 PM Gabriel Espinosa Band inside on Theater Stage
featuring Alyssa Allgood and special guest Misha Tsiganov
Tuesday, July 26
5:00-5:45 PM Valley High School Jazz Combo
6:00-7:00 PM Big Fun outside on John & Penny Krantz Stage
7:30-9:00 PM Marilyn Maye inside on Theater Stage
Patrons are encouraged to bring a blanket and lawn chairs to spread out and enjoy the opening sets outside, and then, everyone is invited inside the historic theater for the second half. Attendees will be able to purchase food and beverages on site. Patrons are not allowed to bring their own alcohol; this must be purchased on site. Events will go on, rain or shine.
