Hoyt Sherman Place has been the home of the Des Moines Women’s Club since 1907. Their mission is: to improve the lives of their members through lifelong learning, to enrich their community through scholarship activities and to support Hoyt Sherman Place in its efforts to preserve and enhance the facility.

On February 27, the Des Moines Women’s Club put its mission into action by graciously presenting a check in the amount of $100,000 toward the Capital Campaign’s efforts.

In October, Hoyt Sherman Place announced a capital campaign to fund facility upgrades and increase accessibility for patrons and performers. “Hoyt Sherman Place: The Next 100 Years” aims to raise $3.5 million to create spaces that perfectly balance the history and style of the galleries, mansion and theater with today’s modern demands.

“Our Club is looking forward to another 100 years at Hoyt Sherman Place,” says the Club President, Wendy Roberts.
