All classes will take place in our new building, Center for Artists and Education, located on the north side of the building unless otherwise noted.

Are you always looking for ways to make your photographs more interesting? There are tips for using design elements and composition to create more dynamic images. Janet will show you examples of her work and share some of the details that you can apply to your own work. The second half of class will be used to experiement with the information you have learned.

Instructor: Photographer Steve O'Brien
The CSI Connection - What’s Hollywood and What’s Real? How real CSI skills can be used in everyday photography. $40.00 (teen-adult)

Steve will talk about his extensive career as a forensic photography. He will show examples of how he used practical camera settings in his everyday work and how you can apply the same tecnical skills to your every day macro photography and light painting.
This class will allow the attendee to explore the numerous ways to utilize their camera controls and capture images in the close-up realm. Through class discussion and hands-on exercises, the various applications of depth-of-field laws will be covered and utilized. Appropriate equipment requirements will also be covered throughout the course.
Steve will also touch on Light Painting. This allows the photographer to explore the unseen realm of long exposure photography utilizing auxiliary lighting tools and available light. Photographers will experience the possibilities of creating images that are impossible with conventional lighting techniques. The class will also cover the camera adjustments and equipment required to capture these images.
Bring a flashlight or LED light to paint with. Steve will have a few lights to share too.
Wear DARK clothes preferably black, dark shoes (no reflectors) and if you have light colored hair bring a black hat or black hoodie.
DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras are suggested for this class. If you have a macro lens even better!

Create Illustration-style Self Portrait (adult) $45.00  Register Here
Tuesday, November 1st 5:30pm-7:30pm
Use pencils, ink and watercolor to create a stylized self portrait. We’ll explore exaggerating shapes and using different drawing styles to make illustrative portraits. You can stylize it any way you like! You can also bring a photo of a pet and stylize that too. We’ll start by sketching lightly with pencil, inking your drawing and then adding some color with watercolor. Drawing, ink and watercolor tips and tricks will be discussed.


Instructor: Candace Camling Design a Children’s Book Character (adult) $45.00  Register Here
Tuesday, November 8th 5:30pm-7:30pm
Work with Candace to design a character from a classic children’s book or maybe a character from your own story. Explore how body language and facial expressions can elevate your character from status quo to memorable and unique. Using stylized drawing, proportions and more will also be discussed. We’ll start by sketching out your character with pencil, inking your drawing and then adding color with watercolor paints.

Pet Portrait Watercolor Class (adults) - $40.00 Introduction and advance watercolor techniques. One-on-one demonstration, step-by step guidance that will help you create your individual projects. Bring a printedphoto of your furry or feathered friend! If you need it printed for you please send it to us at least 3 days prior to class.


4 Week Watercolor class (teen - adults) $160.00 Dates to come!
Introduction and advancement in watercolor techniques.
Students will learn how to use an artistic process to inspire ideas and develop art skills.

Finding Hidden Objects in Watercolor and Ink (kids 8-12) $35.00 Dates to come!
This class will guide students in the use of watercolor and ink to create paintings with hidden compositions. You will learn to mix color, brush and inking techniques.
