Jazz in July Free Summer Concert Series Returns in 2021 at Hoyt Sherman Place

Hoyt Sherman Place is excited to announce their free concert series, Jazz in July, is back for 2021! Concerts are scheduled for Tuesdays, July 13, July 20, and July 27, with openers performing at 6:00 PM on the John & Penny Krantz Stage outside on the lawn, and headliners hitting the theater stage inside at 7:30 PM.

This free summer program wouldn’t be possible without the help of its premier sponsor, Principal Foundation, additional funding from National Independent Venue Association, as well as expertise from our Jazz in July Arts Advisor John Krantz.

The full Jazz in July schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, July 13
6:00 – 7:00 PM                  Cole Peterson Quintet outside on John & Penny Krantz Stage
7:30 – 9:00 PM                  Amina Figarova Group inside on Theater Stage

Tuesday, July 20
6:00 – 7:00 PM                  The NOLA Jazz Band outside on John & Penny Krantz Stage
7:30 – 9:00 PM                  Gabriel Espinosa Band featuring Misha Tsiganov inside on Theater Stage
                                                  with Molly Lehr, Dave Kobberdahl, Bryan Schumacker, and Tim Crumley

Tuesday, July 27
6:00 – 7:00 PM                  The Sam Salomone Band outside on John & Penny Krantz Stage
7:30 – 9:00 PM                  The Syndicate inside on Theater Stage
                                               featuring Damani Phillips, Curtis Taylor, Dr. William Menefield, Steve Charlson, and Cassius Goens

Patrons are encouraged to bring a blanket and lawn chairs to spread out and enjoy the opening sets outside. Attendees will be able to purchase local food truck fare, as well as beverages provided by the venue on site. Events will go on, rain or shine.
