109th Annual Art Exhibition Sponsored by the Des Moines Women's Club

The Des Moines Women’s Club will be hosting their annual free art exhibition of professional and non-professional artists in Central Iowa, marking it’s 109th year. The event is set to take place at Hoyt Sherman Place on Sunday, February 19th through Sunday, February 26th.
The exhibition is set to begin on Sunday, February 19th which will be an opening reception and awards with hours of 1:00 PM-4:00 PM. Monday, February 20th- Saturday, February 25th the exhibition will be open from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM, with an evening reception on Friday, February 24th from 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM. The final day of the exhibition will be Sunday, February 26th and will last from 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM. All of these event dates will be free to the public and exhibiting artists.
There will be more than 150 pieces of artwork on display and some pieces may be available for purchase from the artists. There will be awards presented during the Artists’ Reception in both professional and non-professional categories.
The Art Exhibiton will be made possible with funds from the Shirley and Kenneth Smith Estate. Kenneth always entered his work in the Des Moines Women's Club Annual Art Exhibition, and together they helped for years with this event. They left a significant portion of their estate to the Des Moines Women's Club, an organization they both loved. The Art Exhibition was so important to them, that this event will be endowed each year with funds from the Shirley and Kenneth Smith Estate.
